The moment you all been waiting for. Greg Owens links up with fellow Columbia College Chicago students Shawn Frank & Jovan as the Midwest connection is in full effect. Illinois, Indiana and Ohio is represented respectively as each person brings it lyrically in their own way. Produced by Greg Owens himself, he samples from Ohio's legendary band, Zapp's classic hit "More Bounce to the Ounce."
Chicago artist Pierce Elliott kicks off 2014 as he teams up with Columbus Ohio's rising artist/producer Greg Owens with the nostalgic track "It's All Good." They both attend Columbia College Chicago and are expecting to drop their respective projects (Runnin' For Yayer 2 & The Greg Owens Project) later on in the year. I've known fellow Columbus, Ohio native, Alexander Dreamer for a few years now and I've been able to see the growth in his music since I first heard his material. Based on the looks his been getting recently, he's definitely going no where but us. Today he drops his album Dancing With The Devil, which he produced, wrote, and recorded in it's entirety. Get hip to this dude, WE TAKING OVER. Follow him on Twitter at @AlexanderDreamr.
Here's a promo video for the upcoming project "The Greg Owens Project." It features a snippit of the single "Tired of Being Broke." The video was shot and edited by Matt Gothard. Visit his website at http://www.matthewgothard.com
I know you're wondering, 'why did you decide to change the title of your project when you've been promoting it for a while now?' I felt like "Young, Black & Gifted" was more "themed" oriented. I listened to all the songs that I've done so far for the project...it sounded more like a compilation than a project that just focused on a particular them and/or sound.
So I decided to rename my new project "The Greg Owens Project." It might take a while for some people to get use to it. The title had popped in my head earlier today and which made me think of the project as a whole. The ENTIRE project is self produced, self written and self recorded by me. As I continue to grow as a musician/artist, this project will truly display my versitality in all aspects. Hopefully, the listeners will get an idea of who Greg Owens is as an artist/producer and I hope you wil enjoy the hard work that I've put into my art.
